Introduction
Lawyer Diary Pro, developed by Jarvis Technologies ("we", "our", "us"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web platform.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Apple User ID: Unique identifier from Sign in with Apple (for iOS users who use Apple Sign-In)
- Profile Data: Your profile picture from Apple or Google account
- Contact Information: Email for account verification and support
Case Management Data
- Case Information: Case details, court names, dates, client information
- Documents: Files and attachments you add to cases
- Photos: Images you attach to feedback submissions (optional)
Contact Data
- Party Contact Details: Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of parties you add to cases
- Advocate Contact Details: Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of adverse party advocates linked to cases
- Important Contacts: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and designations of contacts you manually add (e.g., judges, registrars, clerks)
This data is entered by you directly or imported from your device contacts and is stored securely in your account. It is used solely for your case management purposes.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used, crash reports
- Analytics: Anonymized usage statistics via Firebase Analytics
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the Lawyer Diary Pro service
- Store and sync your case data across devices
- Send reminders for upcoming court dates
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features
- Display contact details you have saved for quick access within the app
- Enable communication actions (call, SMS, WhatsApp) via your device's native apps when you tap a contact
Device Contacts Access
When and Why We Access Your Contacts
The app provides an optional feature to import contact details from your device's address book to auto-fill party, advocate, or important contact fields in case forms. This access is:
- Optional: You are never required to grant contacts permission. You can manually type all contact details instead.
- User-initiated only: The app reads your device contacts only when you explicitly tap the "Import from Device" or contact picker button. We never access contacts in the background.
- Selective: Only the specific contact you choose to import is used. We do not read, upload, or store your full contacts list.
- Permission-based: The app requests contacts permission at runtime. You can grant or deny this permission and can revoke it at any time in your device settings.
What Contact Data Is Stored
When you import a contact, only the following fields from the selected contact are stored in your account:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address (if available)
This data is stored under your Firestore account and is associated with the relevant case or your important contacts list. It is not shared with any third party.
How to Revoke Contacts Permission
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts → Lawyer Diary Pro → toggle off
- Android: Settings → Apps → Lawyer Diary Pro → Permissions → Contacts → Deny
Revoking permission does not delete contact data already saved in your cases. To remove saved contact data, edit or delete the relevant case or important contact entry within the app.
Important: We do not sync, upload, or access your full device contacts list. Only the individual contact you explicitly select is used to fill in form fields. Your contacts list remains private on your device.
Third-Party Contact Data (Your Professional Responsibility)
When you store contact details of third parties (clients, opposing parties, advocates, judges) in the app, you are responsible for ensuring that:
- You have appropriate authority or consent to store that person's contact information in connection with legal proceedings
- The storage of such data is consistent with your professional obligations as a legal practitioner
- You comply with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction regarding third-party personal data
Such data is handled as part of your professional case records, consistent with legal professional privilege and confidentiality obligations.
Communication Features
The Contacts section of the app displays quick action buttons (Call, SMS, WhatsApp) for saved contacts. When you tap these buttons:
- The app opens your device's native Phone, Messaging, or WhatsApp application with the contact's number pre-filled
- We do not place calls, send messages, or interact with WhatsApp directly — all communication is handled entirely by your device's native apps
- We do not log, record, or store any communication you make through these actions
- WhatsApp is a third-party application governed by its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for WhatsApp's data practices
Data Storage and Security
- Cloud Storage: Data is stored securely on Firebase Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Authentication: Secure authentication via Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In
- Access Control: Only you can access your case data
- Cloud Functions: Subscription receipts are verified via secure Firebase Cloud Functions that communicate directly with Apple/Google servers
- Receipt Validation: Purchase receipts are validated server-side to prevent fraud
- Contact Data: Contact details stored in the app are protected by the same Firestore security rules as your case data — accessible only by your authenticated account
Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Service Providers
We may share data with:
- Firebase/Google Cloud: For hosting, storage, and authentication
- Apple App Store: For iOS in-app purchase verification (iOS users)
- Google Play Store: For Android in-app purchase verification (Android users)
These providers are bound by privacy agreements and cannot use your data for other purposes.
Contact Data Is Not Shared

Account Deletion and Deactivation
How Account Deletion Works
We implement a two-step deletion process to protect your data and give you time to change your mind:
Important: Account deletion is a two-phase process with a 30-day grace period for recovery.
Phase 1: Immediate Deactivation
When you request account deletion through the app:
- Account Access: Your account is immediately deactivated and you cannot log in
- Notifications: All notification tokens are deactivated - you will no longer receive any notifications, reminders, or broadcast messages
- Subscriptions: Active premium subscriptions are automatically cancelled (no future billing)
- Data Preservation: Your case data, settings, and files are preserved for 30 days
- Login Block: You cannot access the app during this period
Phase 2: Permanent Deletion (After 30 Days)
After 30 days from your deletion request, the following data is permanently deleted:
- All case records and case details
- Court dates and appointments
- Client information
- All uploaded documents and files
- Court names and case type lists
- Legal sections and notes
- Your user profile and account information
- All settings and preferences
- FCM notification tokens
- Your Firebase Authentication account
- All party and advocate contact details linked to cases
- All important contacts (judges, registrars, and other saved contacts)
Account Recovery
You can cancel the deletion request and recover your account within 30 days:
- How to Recover: Contact our support team at support@elawyerdiary.com
- Required Information: Provide your email address used for the account
- Timeline: Must be requested within 30 days of deletion request
- Recovery Process: We will reactivate your account and restore full access
- After Recovery: All your data, cases, contacts, and settings will be restored as they were
After 30 Days: Account recovery is NOT possible. All data is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
Immediate Deletion (Without Grace Period)
If you need immediate deletion without the 30-day waiting period:
- Contact our support team at support@elawyerdiary.com
- Request immediate deletion with your account email
- We will process immediate deletion within 48 business hours
- Warning: Immediate deletion cannot be undone
What Happens to Your Subscription
If you have an active premium subscription when requesting deletion:
- The subscription status in our system is marked as cancelled
- You will not be charged for future billing cycles after the current period ends
- You retain premium access until the current subscription period expires
- iOS Users: Manage your subscription through: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Lawyer Diary Pro. We recommend cancelling there to ensure no future billing.
- Android Users: Manage your subscription through: Google Play Store → Account → Subscriptions → Lawyer Diary Pro
- Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel the subscription with Apple/Google. You must cancel through the respective platform to stop future charges.
- Refunds for unused subscription time follow our Refund Policy and Apple/Google's refund policies
Cross-Platform Account Linking
If you use Sign in with Apple, we store your Apple User ID to enable:
- Seamless sign-in across different devices using the same Apple ID
- Account recovery if you sign in on a new device
- Prevention of duplicate accounts for the same Apple ID
- Subscription sharing across devices (one subscription works everywhere)
This identifier is unique and does not reveal your personal Apple ID email address.
Data Export Before Deletion
Important: We strongly recommend exporting your case data before requesting deletion:
- Go to Settings → Account Management → Export Data
- Download your case data in CSV format
- Save this file as a backup before proceeding with deletion
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered without contacting support within 30 days
