Data Deletion Policy

Overview

At Lawyer Diary Pro, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how we handle account deletion requests and what happens to your data when you choose to delete your account.

Important: We use a two-phase deletion process with a 30-day grace period to protect your data and allow account recovery if you change your mind.

Platform-Specific: Account deletion works the same way on iOS and Android. Your data is stored in the cloud and deletion applies across all platforms.

Two-Phase Deletion Process

Phase 1: Account Deactivation (Immediate)

When you request account deletion through the app (Settings → Account Management → Delete Account):

Within 1 Minute

  • Your account is immediately deactivated
  • You are logged out of all devices
  • You cannot log in or access the app

Within 1 Minute

  • All notification tokens are deactivated
  • You stop receiving court reminders
  • You are excluded from broadcast messages

Within 5 Minutes

  • Active premium subscription is cancelled
  • No future billing charges
  • Premium features remain until current period ends

Your Data Status

  • All your data is preserved for 30 days
  • Data is NOT deleted yet
  • You can recover your account within this period

Phase 2: Permanent Deletion (After 30 Days)

After 30 days from your deletion request, all data is permanently and irrevocably deleted:

Client Information Client names, contact information, case associations
Files & Documents All uploaded documents, photos, attachments
Settings Court names, case types, legal sections, preferences
Account Data Email, name, profile picture, authentication records
Notifications All FCM tokens, notification history
Subscription Purchase history, subscription records (billing via Google Play)
⚠️ Warning: After 30 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We cannot recover your data.

How to Request Account Deletion

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open Lawyer Diary Pro app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Navigate to General Settings
  4. Scroll to Account Management section
  5. Tap Delete Account
  6. Read the warnings carefully
  7. Optionally provide a reason (helps us improve)
  8. Tap DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT to confirm
💡 Tip: Export your case data before deletion:
Settings → Account Management → Export Data → Download CSV

Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app, email us at:

Email: support@elawyerdiary.com

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Account name (if different from email)
  • Reason for deletion (optional)
  • Confirmation that you understand data will be deleted in 30 days

Processing Time: Email requests are processed within 2 business days

Account Recovery (Within 30 Days)

✅ Good News: You can cancel deletion and recover your account within 30 days!

How to Recover Your Account

  1. Email us at support@elawyerdiary.com
  2. Subject: Account Recovery Request
  3. Include: Your registered email address
  4. We will reactivate your account within 1 business day
  5. All your data, cases, and settings will be restored
  6. You can log in again using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In

What Gets Restored

⏰ Deadline: Recovery requests must be made within 30 days of deletion request. After 30 days, recovery is NOT possible.

Immediate Deletion (Without Grace Period)

If you need your data deleted immediately without waiting 30 days:

  1. Email: support@elawyerdiary.com
  2. Subject: Immediate Data Deletion Request
  3. Include:
    • Your registered email address
    • Confirmation: "I request immediate deletion without grace period"
    • Reason for immediate deletion (optional)
  4. We will process within 48 business hours
⚠️ Critical Warning: Immediate deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. There is NO recovery option.

If you have an active subscription when requesting deletion:

How to Cancel Your Subscription

🍎 For iOS Users:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find Lawyer Diary Pro
  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"
  6. Confirm cancellation

🤖 For Android Users:

  1. Open Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
  3. Select "Payments & subscriptions""Subscriptions"
  4. Find "Lawyer Diary Pro"
  5. Tap "Cancel subscription"

Refunds

Refund eligibility is determined by our Refund Policy and platform-specific refund policies:

Data Backup & Export

⚠️ Important: We strongly recommend exporting your data before requesting deletion.

How to Export Your Data

  1. Open Lawyer Diary Pro
  2. Go to Settings → Account Management
  3. Tap "Export Data"
  4. Select data to export (Cases, Courts, etc.)
  5. Choose CSV format
  6. Download to your device
  7. Save to cloud storage or email yourself

What Can Be Exported

Note: Uploaded files and photos cannot be bulk exported. Download them individually before deletion.
